Dimitrios Kapoukranidis Music

Dimitrios Kapoukranidis is an award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist. For over a decade, he has contributed scores to film and games, musical accompaniment for interactive media, and advertisement branding. Utilizing the sounds of sparse or lush soundscapes, traditional instruments blended with modern technology, he lends a unique sonic fingerprint to every project while pulling from a vast and diverse vocabulary of styles and genres. As he always notes, "No two projects are ever the same, so no two projects should sound the same, either." In addition to media scoring, Dimitrios has composed a range of concert music, primarily for small-to-medium chamber ensembles.

His scores for video games have maintained collaborations with developer ToasterHead and others including GMTK Jam submissions You Got Played? (2023), Built to Schell (2024), and Micro Jam submission Merchant of War (2025). His music was featured in the Brackeys Game Jam Submission Maiden Voyage (2025), by MythicMoon Studios. In 2023, he worked alongside Cunning Plan game-makers Bill Edmunds and Etienne Vallee and composed narrative score and diegetic music for the Bone Age tabletop role-playing-game’s upcoming module, Saga of the Dreamer.

Dimitrios’ score for WalrusDice Productions’ Vermont feature film The Butterfly Queen (2022) received praise as “an ever-present reminder of the world that we’re in” – (Overly Honest Movie Reviews). The film had a successful and extensive festival run in the US and internationally, receiving multiple awards including Best Feature, Best Adventure, and Best of Fest. His work on the award-winning Japanese-English film Koko Ni Inai: I’m Not Here (2019) fostered a collaborative relationship with New York filmmaker Emel Saat, continuing with branding work for NYC Tiny House in 2020, and a new, unnamed project currently under development. Other notable scores are student films Anata No Ato De (2017) by Gideon DeKett, Boston 48 Hour Film Festival submission Err Replaceable (2024), and Le Loup-Garou (2014), co-composed with Jonathan Way.

In addition to original score work, Kapoukranidis has amassed an ever-growing body of royalty-free music, available as Music Packs. These consist of Frontiers (2024), Disquiet Volume 1 (2024), and Age of Deep Earth (2025). As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist trained both classically and in contemporary styles, he has contributed performance and recording talents to a number of bands and productions. Currently, he is the lead songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and producer for progressive rock project NOMAD alongside percussionist Devon Larabee. He has been a member of many classical vocal ensembles, and in 2016 performed as Clem (tenor) in Keene State College’s production of Benjamin Britten’s The Little Sweep. He served as the lead vocalist for rock group Eyes for Others from 2012 to 2015.
